Cristiano Ronaldo has an uncertain future at Manchester United after becoming ‘disillusioned’ under Ralf Rangnick, says the Mirror. The 37-year-old will meet agent Jorge Mendes for talks and could be on the move at the end of the season.
Paris Saint-Germain are hoping to capitalise on the uncertainty and could have Ronaldo and Lionel Messi lining up in the same team next season. The Mirror says the Parisians are willing to hand Ronaldo a 12-month deal, viewing him as a temporary replacement for the Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappe.
Ronaldo re-joined Man Utd on a two-year deal from Juventus in August 2021 and has gone on to make 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 goals with three assists.
The Portuguese international isn’t enjoying his football, however, with United 20 points adrift of leaders Manchester City while being uninspiring in the Champions League, so a move to the Parc des Princes can’t be ruled out.
Mbappe could leave PSG on a free transfer this summer, as his contract is up in the coming months and he’s rejected all offers on the table. Real, who tried to bring Mbappe to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2017, are favourites to sign him. The French international’s departure would leave a big hole to fill and Ronaldo might be a cost-effective solution for a season.
United paid £13.5m to sign him from Juve, so his transfer fee wouldn’t break the bank. Ronaldo’s wages would be the issue, however, as he’s taking home around £480k-per-week/£25m-a-year. The Portuguese forward scored 101 goals in 134 games in Italy and might thrive in another country dominated by one team.

As much affinity Ronaldo has for United supporters, he won’t stay at Old Trafford if he isn’t happy. His relationship with Ralf Rangnick is believed to be fractured and the Red Devils haven’t won a trophy since 2017, so there isn’t a lot keeping him in Manchester.
