Everton are set for a new round of talks with Paris Saint-Germain over a potential deal for Idriss Gueye, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian transfer guru took to Twitter earlier this morning to reveal that either a loan or a permanent deal are a possibility ahead of the talks, while there is also interest in the player from Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma.
The 32-year-old impressed during his previous stint at Goodison Park, where he made 107 appearances in Toffees colours (transfermarkt) before sealing a £29million move to the Ligue 1 giants in 2019 (Guardian).
The Toffees begin their Premier League campaign against Frank Lampard’s former team Chelsea on Saturday before they travel to Aston Villa the following week.

Everton are desperate for a defensive midfielder, having also previously been linked with a move for Tottenham’s Harry Winks, who is surplus to requirements in north London.
Despite being the wrong side of 30, Gueye would help to add some short-term stability to Lampard’s side given the current lack of depth of quality in the midfield.
