Manchester United are yet to table a new offer for Ajax winger Antony, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

Romano has claimed that the Brazilian remains Erik ten Hag’s main transfer target and a bid will soon be made to the Dutch giants.

The Telegraph claimed earlier today that such is Antony’s desire for the deal to get completed, his representatives will remain in England until the close of the transfer window to ensure he gets the move to Old Trafford.

United had an offer of £72.3million turned down last week, which consisted of £63.2million up front with add ons worth a further £8.3million.

Antony has already handed in a transfer request and went on strike on Friday when he refused to train, and was left out of the squad for the fixture at Sparta Rotterdam.

The Sports View

Antony is pushing hard for the move and his future at Ajax looks to be untenable given the actions he has made over the past few days.

The Dutch side trying to squeeze every penny they can out of United but also know that time is ticking before the window closes, it would be a surprise if this deal is not signed and sealed within the next week.
