Real Madrid are considering a move for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate ahead of the 2023/24 campaign, according to French news outlet MediaFoot.
Konate moved to Anfield in May 2021 when Liverpool triggered a £36million transfer release clause in his contract at RB Leipzig to bring him to the Premier League (Sky Sports).
The La Liga giants are already said to have ‘launched an operation behind the scenes’ to make their move for the 23-year-old with Real boss Carlo Ancelotti keen to bring the player to Madrid.
The report claims that the lure of playing for Los Blancos along with the financial might of the former Champions League winners could prove to be enough for a deal to be struck.
Konate has seen his time on Merseyside hampered by injury and has only started one Premier League match so far this season (transfermarkt).

Konate is one of the brightest defenders in European football, however, his injury record at Liverpool has been a cause for frustration and concern.
Madrid have a reputation of spending big when they have a transfer target within their sights and Liverpool may just be tempted given the lack of opportunities they have had to get him on the pitch.
