Liverpool could sell another player to Saudi Arabia in the summer transfer window, and this time he really would be a major loss.
Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have both left Liverpool to join Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ittihad respectively. Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino left on a free transfer to link up with Al Ahli.
Whilst all of those players have played key roles for the Reds over the years, none of them would have been guaranteed starters this season.
Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t have been too bothered about any of them leaving Anfield. However, the latest Liverpool player to be linked with a move out to Saudi Arabia really would be a massive loss, if he was to be sold…
Liverpool star Alisson Becker is now tempted to join Saudi club in big blow for Jurgen Klopp
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Al Nassr want to sign Alisson Becker from Liverpool this summer. And the 30-year-old is apparently ‘rather tempted’ by the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League.
Klopp brought the Brazilian to Anfield from Roma in the summer of 2018 for around €75 million (£65 million) according to the Guardian. He has since gone on to establish himself as one of the vey best goalkeepers in world football, if not the best.
Losing Alisson would be a major blow to Liverpool’s hopes of forcing their way back into contention for the Premier League title.
The Brazilian is under contract with the Reds until the summer of 2027, so Klopp will be under absolutely no pressure to sell him. However, Liverpool’s job might just be made a lot harder if the goalkeeper really pushes for a move out to the Middle East this summer.
