Former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher shared his reaction on X/Twitter as the Reds close in on a move for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo after agreeing a £110 million deal to sign the Ecuador international.
The Anfield club are breaking the British transfer record for the 21-year-old and were forced to splash the cash to acquire him as Chelsea also submitted an offer, but Liverpool tabled more and a medical is expected to take place today.
Carragher is happy with the deal, taking to his social media account to react this morning.
110M is a big price for #Caicedo but Liverpool had to pay big as clubs knew they were desperate.
But signing two top young players for 145M & selling two of your older players for 52M is great business!

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea tabled a bid worth £100m last night, but Brighton’s board decided to sell the player to the highest bidder, and Caicedo will become a Liverpool player on Friday if all goes to plan.
More on Caicedo ✨🇪🇨
Chelsea late night bid for Moises was up to £100m package.
Liverpool bid is British record on £110m package — accepted by Brighton with immediate effect.
Brighton’s board was clear: player to be sold by end of Thursday to the highest bidder.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had been keen on Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia but were unable to convince the Championship club with their bids and have quickly moved on to the Brighton star, and he is an upgrade on the Belgian given his huge quality, potential and how brilliant he has been since he moved to the Premier League.
Liverpool have signed Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and Argentina international midfielder Alexis Mac Allister for a combined £95m, but they have been forced to further reinforce their options in the middle of the park following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, and Caicedo is the perfect addition to their ranks as they look to return to winning major silverware this term.
The Brighton Player of the Year for last season had been keen to leave for a bigger club and will now get his wish having been denied a chance to leave in January despite some big-money offers from Arsenal.
Liverpool have a strong midfield capable of mounting a title challenge this term, and the onus is on Klopp to get the best of his summer recruitment after the disappointing campaign of last term.
