Leeds reportedly could now sign 23-year-old on loan from top Premier League club

Leeds United reportedly want to sign Djed Spence from Tottenham this summer.

According to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs, a move to join Leeds on loan this summer could be an option for the 23-year-old Tottenham defender.

The Whites have made a really poor start to their 2023/24 Championship campaign, having taken just two points from their opening three games.

Daniel Farke clearly has to strengthen his squad at Elland Road before the transfer window slams shut, and the addition of a young, pacy right-back is now an urgent one.

It seems as though the West Yorkshire outfit have a really exciting option lined up…

Leeds eyeing swoop for Tottenham’s Djed Spence

Ben Jacobs has been speaking about what the future might hold for the 23-year-old Spurs man.

And the CBS journalist mentioned Leeds as a potential loan option for him:

“The only interest, to date, in his services is for loans and I think that he would need to drop down to the Championship as well,” said Jacobs. “There might be some late interest from other Ligue 1 clubs and I would keep an eye on Strasbourg. Keep an eye on that but again, that’s only being discussed internally at Strasbourg at the moment, they’ve not moved. As far as the Championship enquiries are concerned, my understanding is that they are for loans and there are three clubs that I would keep an eye on over the course of the next week if Tottenham decide to loan and Spence decides to drop down, and those three clubs are Swansea City, Bristol City and Leeds United.”

Spence can play as a right-back but he is at his best when he is bombing up and down the right hand flank as a wing-back.

He would be a tremendous signing for the Whites.

The final week of the window will be a crucial one for Leeds. It’s absolutely vital that Daniel Farke gets some new additions over the line imminently.

The Whites have already missed out on Nadiem Amiri according to Florian Plettenberg.

Now Leeds fans will be hoping that their club has a bit more luck in their pursuit of Djed Spence from Tottenham.
