Eintracht Frankfurt star Jesper Lindstrom is firmly on the radar of Newcastle United this summer.
According to Ekstra Bladet (print edition August 16th, page 5), Newcastle have a strong interest in signing the 23-year-old attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Magpies boss Eddie Howe has made some great signings since taking over at St James’ Park. However, he needs more new additions before the transfer window slams shut, with Champions League football to come next month.
And it seems as though the addition of a top-class attacking midfielder is featuring very highly on Howe’s wish-list…
Newcastle really want to sign ‘elite’ attacker Jesper Lindstrom for £30 million this summer
Ekstra Bladet reckon that the Toon are trying to sign the 23-year-old, with Eintracht Frankfurt demanding €30 million for his services this summer.
However, RB Leipzig and Juventus allegedly want to sign the nine-capped Denmark international as well.
Howe should be going all out to bring the Eintracht Frankfurt star to St James Park this summer. He is a really exciting young talent and plays as an attacking midfielder. Lindstrom can also operate as a left winger or even through the middle as an auxiliary striker.
The Dane bagged seven goals and four assists in 27 Bundesliga games for Frankfurt last season, and he was one of their most consistent performers.
Well-renowned football scouting and analytical website Breaking the Lines have described him as ‘elite’. Signing Jesper Lindstrom for £30 million this summer should be an absolute no-brainer for Newcastle.
Whether the Magpies are able to beat off competition for the Eintracht Frankfurt ace’s signature remains to be seen though.
