Robbie Savage has claimed on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE that Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is better than his Paris Saint-Germain counterpart Achraf Hakimi and Arsenal defenders Ben White and Jurrien Timber.
The Gunners snapped up the Netherlands international in a £38 million deal from Ajax earlier this summer, while the England international joined them from Brighton and Hove Albion for £50m in the summer of 2021.
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League last season, with White featuring in 38 games and weighing in with two goals and five assists.
The North London club want to go one better this season and have signed Timber to strengthen their squad, but he could spend months on the injury sidelines after picking up a knock on his knee against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
His absence comes as a huge blow for Arsenal and the Dutchman would be gutted to have missed a chance to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
The versatile defender featured at left-back in his league debut for Arsenal and has the potential to become one of the best full-backs in the land.
Alexander-Arnold has proven himself in the Premier League, but Timber could soon be giving the Liverpool star a run for his money.
The England international has scored 12 goals and assisted 54 others in 199 league games, with a league title to his name.
He has also been occasionally deployed in central midfield due to his creativity but there have been question marks over his defensive abilities at times.
Savage may be right for now, but the Premier League trio will be judged by both their individual and teams’ performances this term, and all eyes will be on them again as they look to win silverware for their respective clubs.
