Tottenham Hotspur could make transfer U-turn on Harry Kane as flight to Germany delayed

PSG trying to convince Tottenham chief Daniel Levy to sell Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was due to jet into Munich this morning to complete a move to Bayern Munich with plans to have him feature for them on Saturday when they take on RB Leipzig in the DFL-Supercup, according to German outlet Abend Zeitung.

However, Sky Sports Germany are reporting that Spurs are currently hindering the move and have revoked his permission to fly to Germany.

The England international is yet to have his medical and the plug can still be pulled on the move as he is yet to put pen on paper over a deal with Bayern.

Earlier this week, Kane agreed a four-year contract with the German champions pending a medical in a deal worth €120 million, with his 19-year association with Tottenham expected to come a close today, but things could change.

Spurs could be trying to change the terms of the deal at the last minute or chairman Daniel Levy could decide that they want to hold on to him for the last year of his current contract.

The U-turn would have come as a shock to Bayern as they have been planning to be with him in their squad tomorrow, and it will be interesting to see what happens in the coming hours as Kane waits to find out what to do next.

The 30-year-old is without a club trophy since becoming a professional in 2010 and would have been dreaming of lifting the Bundesliga title and Champions League with Bayern.

The Bavarians are favourites to win the German Super Cup tomorrow, and while Kane could still end up joining them today if both clubs can agree fresh terms, whether there will be enough time for him to be registered for the game remains to be seen.

He has waited 13 years for his first piece of silverware and would not have any problem waiting until next year or 2025 for one.
