Liverpool are set to pocket a profit from Wolfsburg’s move for Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara, reports Fabrizio Romano.
The Polish goalkeeper is set to join Wolfsburg, with the Bundesliga side expected to pay €13.5 million to get the deal over the line.
With the German transfer window already closed, Grabara will reportedly complete his move to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2024, although Die Wolfe have an option to trigger the purchase in January.
Grabara, who has been capped once by the Polish national team, began his career in his homeland before joining Liverpool at the under-18 level in 2016.
He worked his way through the youth ranks with loan spells with Aarhus (x2) and Huddersfield Town sandwiched in between but never made his debut for the first team.
Grabara was then shipped out to Copenhagen on a permanent deal worth around €6m and went on to make a name for himself in the Danish top flight.
The 24-year-old made 88 appearances for Copenhagen, keeping 40 clean sheets and winning three major titles with the Danish outfit.
Liverpool had inserted a 20% sell-on clause in the move that saw him join the Danish heavyweights two years ago, meaning they are entitled to a fraction of the proceeds from his subsequent sale.
The Reds are in line to pocket €2.7m from his €13.5m move to Wolfsburg, although he will spend the remainder of the campaign at the Danish capital before linking up with the German club next summer.
Grabara has already been in inspired form for Copenhagen this season, keeping five clean sheets in 12 appearances across all competitions.
He was integral to their Champions League qualification, managing three clean sheets in six appearances during the play-offs.
His heroics will see Copenhagen face Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Galatasaray in Group A of the Champions League where he will hope to bolster his reputation as an impressive keeper even further.
