The Premier League has emerged as a potential destination for Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala, with Manchester City urged to launch an audacious move for the German starlet.
Bild head of football Christian Falk claims Pep Guardiola is a huge admirer of the former Chelsea academy prodigy and has urged the Man City hierarchy to lure him to the Etihad Stadium.
Musiala starred in Bayern’s 3-1 victory over Galatasaray in Tuesday’s Champions League showdown at the Rams Park Stadium in Turkey.
The 20-year-old etched his name on the score sheet in the 79th minute of the thrilling encounter, sealing maximum points for Bayern, although the scoreline flattered their otherwise unimpressive performance.
Musiala joined Bayern’s under-17 set-up in the summer of 2019 for just €200,000 and took only a year to work his way into the senior side following several outstanding performances with the youth teams.
The Germany international has since established himself as a prominent member of Bayern’s first team, racking up 33 goals and 26 assists in 135 appearances for the perennial Bundesliga champions.
Bayern are under no pressure to listen to offers for their high-value prospect, who still has three years to run on his existing deal with the German defending champions.
They are hugely unlikely to listen to any offers for the dazzling youngster, who is valued at €110 million by Transfermarkt, but that may not be enough to ward off Man City with Guardiola keen on his signature.
Liverpool have also registered concrete interest in landing Musiala’s signature but may struggle to cope with the financial power of their Premier League counterparts.
Bayern are aware of the growing interest in their prized jewel and are planning to tie him down to a new long-term contract, which is expected to come with a bumper pay rise.
However, the allure of the Premier League could be difficult for the youngster to ignore, while his approximately £7m a year contract at Bayern could certainly be topped by his English admirers.
