Rangers are looking to appoint their next manager shortly and Philippe Clement has emerged as their top candidate.
According to a report from Nieuwsblad Sport, the Bears have made a “concrete proposal” to the 49-year-old manager who is currently out of work.
The Belgium news outlet reports that a decision is expected shortly from Clement who is in pole position to become the next manager at Ibrox following the sacking of Michael Beale.
Rangers Review journalist Chris Jack shared on X (10 October) that the decision to appoint Clement hasn’t been taken yet. However, it seems that Rangers have made a move to sign the former Monaco manager who has recently spoken with Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab for their managerial role.

After checking on several candidates, it appears that the Gers finally need to make a choice between Clement and Kevin Muscat.
Muscat has enjoyed success in Asia and he needs to make a strong decision whether it will be the right move for him to join Rangers who have made a poor start to the season already.
Clement refused an offer from Saudi Arabia last summer and he could be ready to reject another lucrative offer from the Middle East once again. Rangers are a massive club and he could make a name for himself if his reign proves to be a success.
While his stint with Monaco didn’t go according to the plans, the Rangers board has probably looked into his record in Belgium as the main criterion here. He won trophies with Genk with an enviable 57% winning record and also won two Belgian Pro League titles with Club Brugge.
Known for his ability to build a strong strong on a limited budget, he would be ideal for the Gers in the present scenario. Rangers are second in the league with 15 points from eight games, seven points behind Celtic.
