Andy Townsend has been left impressed with the performance of Aston Villa after they earned a 3-1 victory against Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday (12 November).
Speaking on talkSPORT (13 November), the popular pundit said that he has seen recently defender Matty Cash more in the 18-yard box than in his entire Aston Villa career.
Ally McCoist also appears to have agreed to the view. The Villans have consolidated their fifth position in the Premier League table and are only one point behind Tottenham Hotspur.
The 26-year-old full-back has been in impressive form this season where has managed three goals in 16 goals in all competitions so far.
“I’ve seen Matty Cash in the 18-yard box more times recently than I think ever in his Aston Villa career,” said Townsend.
“13 consecutive #PL home wins!” 👀🔥
“It’s their best home run since 1983. If they continue, they must be thinking about top 4.”

Impressive
Villa are looking like a dangerous side, especially at home and credit goes to Unai Emery for such a massive turnaround.
Under Steven Gerrard, Villa were going directionless, but now there is an air of positivity around Villa Park.
Despite the fact Villa are missing some of their key players through injuries like Tyrone Mings, Emiliano Buendia, Diego Silva and Jacob Ramsey, they haven’t looked like a side that are struggling.
What has been really impressive is their ability to pick up wins at home. Villa Park is looking like a fortress at the moment as they secured their 13th straight win after beating Fulham.
It is too early to say whether Villa can think about the top four, but definitely, they are in a good position to finish in the top six this season.
