Chelsea appear to have agreed deal for Gabriel Moscardo

Chelsea appear to have agreed a deal to sign Corinthians midfielder Gabriel Moscardo as their first signing in January, according to reports coming out of Brazil.

Former Corinthians midfielder Neto, who now hosts the Brazilian TV show ‘Os Donos da Bola’, claims Chelsea have won the race to sign the 18-year-old midfielder.

Moscardo has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs for a while now, but it looks like Chelsea have managed to strike a deal for him.

European heavyweights like Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are equally interested in signing him.

“Moscardo was sold to Chelsea. That’s information I have. That’s why he didn’t play,” said Neto.

“Chelsea play what? Premier League. Who runs the Premier League? Kia. Who runs the Premier League? Giuliano Bertolucci.”

Neto has claimed the player is leaving for around £21m.

Wait and see

It appears that Chelsea may have lodged a bid for the Corinthian youngster in recent weeks, but to claim that a deal has been agreed looks over the top.

It can well happen that the Blues may have received positive feedback from the Brazilian club.

Neto is not a journalist nor he seems to have a huge network, so we will have to wait and see how it unfolds.

Chelsea have spent big in recent transfer windows and they are expected to do so in the January window as well. However, to pay around £21m for an 18-year-old midfielder looks a massive amount.

Mauricio Pochettino will look to bolster his squad in January, but Moscardo may not be his readymade solution.
