Dwight McNeil buzzing for Everton teammate Beto

Everton striker Beto scored his first Premier League goal as the Toffees earned a 3-0 win against Newcastle United on Thursday night (7 December).

The Toffees were leading by 2-0, and they controlled the game from there before Beto put the icing on the cake. They exchanged passes among themselves and created a well-crafted move made up of 29 passes, the longest pass sequence leading to an Everton goal ever in the Premier League.

After a thoroughly entertaining first half, the Toffees increased the tempo in the second period with the home fans baying for blood. Dwight McNeil opened the scoring for the Toffees (he has now scored in back-to-back games) before Abdoulaye Doucoure added another.

McNeil says everyone at the club is “buzzing” with Beto who joined in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old striker has opened his scoring account in the league cup for the Toffees, but he will be extremely happy after registering his first goal in the Premier League.

“Everyone is buzzing for him,” said McNeil to Everton TV. “Everyone is delighted for him to get his first Premier League goal.

“Everyone is buzzing about the build-up to the goal as well, with the passes that were made.”

Huge win

With that victory, the Toffees have moved out of the drop zone. They have been handed the toughest punishment ever by the league as 10 points were docked.

The Toffees dropped down to the relegation zone but it took them no time to avoid the drop zone, and they are looking like a team rejuvenated under Sean Dyche.

They would have moved to 10th in the Premier League had the 10-points stood, which only goes to show how far they have progressed under Dyche who has drilled his passion and work ethic into this side.

McNeil has been outstanding as well, while Jack Harrison, who joined on loan from Leeds, was superb on the night against the Magpies.

In other news, Alex Iwobi has sent message to Everton star following their win against the Magpies at Goodison Park
