Jurgen Klopp impressed with Liverpool youngster Kaide Gordon

Jurgen Klopp spoke about Liverpool youngster Kaide Gordon after the Reds earned a 4-0 win against LASK in the Europa League on Thursday night.

The 19-year-old winger was on the bench for this game and did not feature, but Klopp was very happy to get him back in the squad.

The youngster has suffered wretched luck with injuries across the last 18 months, and the club are very cautious with his development.

Gordon registered four senior appearances for the Reds in the 2021/22 season but a series of injuries halted his progress. But he is back in the side, and hopefully, Klopp will give him some minutes in the upcoming matches.

The Reds boss said that Gordon has impressed him heavily, saying it is “pure joy” to have him back in training. Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com after the match:

“Kaide Gordon is back after a long, long injury spell; incredibly long [and] looks super in training. So, if we can do things like this, we will do things like that because that’s our job, giving the boys not only with words but with actions [and] opportunities to make the next step.

“It’s a pure joy to see him back in training, he [Bradley] had a top pre-season with us and all of a sudden he was out for a long time, so it’s good to have him back.”

Talents

Apart from the fact that Klopp has been one of the most successful managers for the Reds in their history, his legacy goes beyond just winning trophies.

He has played a big role in unearthing young talents, and it will be interesting to see how to rebuilds the team from here on.

The likes of Gordon, Jarell Quansah, Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley and Luke Chambers are fantastic talents and Klopp will be looking to nurture them properly.

Meanwhile, the Reds have secured their place in the last 16 of the Europa League after a comprehensive win at Anfield.
