Liverpool forward Fabio Carvalho could be set for loan move yet again

Liverpool could recall Fabio Carvalho back from his loan spell in January and could send him out on loan again, according to James Pearce

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joined Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window on a season-long loan, but he has struggled for regular game time in Germany.

The Reds are not impressed with how they have handled him, and that’s why they want to terminate the deal and bring him back to Anfield.

The Athletic journalist writes that he is the only “high-profile” Liverpool player who could be on the move in January. Liverpool are keen to ensure his development and therefore they are most likely to send him out on loan yet again.

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has said recently: “He needs to find minutes. We will find the best solution for him.”

Makes sense

Carvalho struggled to make an impact under Klopp last season. While the German boss admits that Carvalho is a fantastic player, he feels that the attacker is not yet ready to start week in week out for the Reds first team.

The loan move to Germany didn’t work out well. He has made just three starts in all competitions in the first half of the campaign, and it makes no sense at all to waste his time.

Could he crawl back into Klopp’s plans? It doesn’t look likely. While the Reds are fighting for several trophies, they do have enough depth in their forward department. Klopp will really struggle to provide him game time at the moment.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool delve into the transfer market to sign one or two players. Signing a new central defender is a priority for the Reds following the injury to Joel Matip while the club could look to buy a new left-back as well.
