Matthew Upson reacts to Martin Odegaard goal in Arsenal win v Wolves

Arsenal have earned a 2-1 win over Wolves on Saturday (2 December) at Emirates Stadium to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League.

Bukayo Saka scored the opening goal of the match inside six minutes following a lovely interchange of passes involving Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Moments later the Gunners cut Wolves’ defence into pieces with a magnificent interchange of passes between Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, from where skipper Martin Odegaard finished it with great composure to make it 2-0.

While commentating on the game for Premier League World Feed, popular football pundit, Mathew Upson (who also works for BBC Sport), was amazed by the move and especially Zincheko’s brilliance to find Odegaard at the right place.

He said on air (2 December, 13:30 minute) – “That is just ridiculous from Arsenal and Zinchenko. He celebrates that like he scores. His contribution is as valuable as that of the goal from Martin Odegaard.”

Pure joy to watch

Odegaard missed a few games last month due to injury but he is now back to his old best. It was the slick move from Zinchenko and Jesus that created a lot of problems for Wolves, and in the end, Odegaard finished it off nicely.

Arsenal have progressed immensely under Mikel Arteta and they are looking like a strong contender for the Premier League title this season. The Gunners do boast a strong defensive set-up, but they are also known for being capable of playing eye-catching football.

This has been a great week for the club. They dismantled Lens 6-0 in midweek in the Champions League and now have earned a fantastic win in the Premier League. The only worrying sign probably is the injury to Tomiyasu, which doesn’t look like a serious one.
