Michael Owen sends message to Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah earns at least £1m a week at Liverpool, says agent

Liverpool moved to the top of the Premier League table after beating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday (9 December).

The Reds came from behind to seal all three points, with goals coming from Mohamed Salah and Harvey Elliott.

It was a special moment for Salah who has now scored 200 goals for this iconic club and 150 goals in the Premier League.

Michael Owen congratulated Salah on X for joining the 150-goal club. Owen also managed 150 goals for Liverpool and is arguably one of the greatest ever strikers the Premier League has seen.

Owen wrote: “Welcome to the 150 PL goals club.”

Phenomenal

Salah is a modern great and he has etched his name among the legends of this club. He has scored more goals than Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Kenny Dalglish and Owen, and only four players are ahead of him.

It looks likely that he can surpass the great Billy Liddell and probably Gordon Hodgson, but it looks difficult to beat the likes of Roger Hunt and Ian Rush. Salah obviously has played fewer games than them, which makes it even more special.

More than personal glory, his goals have helped Liverpool win trophies for the club, and Jurgen Klopp will hope that Salah can guide the Reds to another Premier League title this time around.

The 31-year-old is showing no signs of aging, and he has managed 11 goals and seven assists in the Premier League already this season.

It will be interesting to see if he stays on at the club beyond the summer. Last summer, Saudi clubs made an approach to sign him, but Liverpool rejected a big-money offer to keep him.

But they will probably be tempted to offload him if they receive a similar kind of money next summer. For the moment, he is scripting history for the Reds.
