Tim Sherwood has showered praise on West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen after the Hammers earned a 2-1 victory over Tottenham in the Premier League on Thursday night (8 December).
The England international has been in spectacular form this season, having managed nine Premier League goals already. The 26-year-old is enjoying the prime years of his career and he scored the first goal for West Ham as they levelled after the break.
Sherwood, who also works as a pundit for Sky Sports, told Premier League TV production after that game that Bowen is a “real quality”, who works tirelessly and fits well in David Moyes’s system.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright seems to hold a similar opinion to Sherwood’s view on Bowen.
“You’ve got Jarrod Bowen, Wrighty, who is working tirelessly by not just running around. He’s got real quality as well,” said Sherwood.
Ian Wright responded – “Absolutely.”
Huge win
After West Ham drew 1-1 against Crystal Palace, some of the fans booed the home side for being lackluster. There have been times when the media has speculated about Moyes’s future after a blip in form.
But, if we look at a larger perspective, the Hammers boss has been doing a terrific job and he needs more support from the fans. West Ham have done well in Europe this season, and they have done reasonably well in the Premier League thus far.
On top of that, the Hammers can win the Carabao Cup as well this time. They are undefeated in their last six games in all competitions, winning five of them. They have turned it around, and with one or two quality signings in January, they can get even better.
Bowen has been superb for the Hammers over the past two or three years and he has recently committed his long-term future at the club. He enjoys playing upfront but Moyes should focus on signing a new striker in January.
