Tottenham Hotspur are showing strong intentions in the transfer market and they have made the first move to securing a deal for Conor Gallagher, according to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Athletic claimed earlier this month that Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for Gallagher who is also being targeted by Manchester United. However, it is Spurs who are in contact with the Blues over a move and negotiations are currently underway.
Di Marzio has claimed that Spurs are trying to reach an agreement for Gallagher and a fee in the region of £34m could be enough to secure his signature.
Despite Chelsea’s horrible form, Gallagher has been a key player for the side, and he has been captained by Mauricio Pochettino.

Busy January for Spurs
Tottenham are expected to be really busy in the January transfer window as Ange Postecoglou will look to bolster several areas of the pitch.
Di Marzio says that Gallagher is being admired by Tottenham and he is “very popular” among Spurs management.
The north London club are in desperate need to add a new central defender following the injury to Cristian Romero. Micky van de Ven is also a long-term absentee.
According to a report from The Telegraph, Spurs are also considering signing a new winger in January, and they have Jota in their sight.
However, the signing of Gallagher will give them a huge lift. The 23-year-old is a dynamic box-to-box midfielder who has loads of Premier League experience.
Surprisingly, the Blues are ready to allow Gallagher to move to a rival club, and it looks like Spurs are really serious about getting the deal done at the earliest.
