Tottenham must move for Idumbo Muzambo in January

Tottenham Hotspur should look to bolster the squad in January, and it’s not about adding depth to their first team but their supply line from youth squad as well.

Spurs are actively chasing a deal for Ajax u21 youngster, Stanis Idumbo Muzambo, who has caught the eye of the North London club, according to DB Net, and they must move quickly ahead of others to sign him.

The 18-year-old has put up stellar performances for Ajax u21. His outstanding qualities are evident in his three-goal contributions. Despite missing a chunk of matches due to an injury he suffered at the beginning of the season.

Muzambo’s performances at age grade have attracted interest from a host of clubs across Belgium, Spain, and England. However, DB net reveals that the most concrete offer for the versatile midfielder is precisely from Tottenham in the Premier League. The North London club have presented a “four-year project” to the midfielder to integrate him into the first team until the end of the season, before deciding whether he will remain with the first team fold or be loaned out next summer for more experience.

Having moved to The Johan Cruyff Arena from KAA Gent Youth in 2021, the Belgium u19 international is nearing the end of his contract and has to decide on his future in the coming days.

Ligue 1 outfit, Monaco have also indicated interest in the youngster as they consider loaning him to Cercle Bruges to gain experience. However, reports suggest Monaco’s offer is not appealing to the player and his family currently.

Tottenham have rebranded their transfer strategy since Ange Postecoglou took over the reins of the club. Quality players have been signed to the first team, but most notably, exciting prospects have also been added to the academy. These young players will then be developed into promising assets for the club in the future.

The likes of Alejo Véliz was signed from Rosario Central in Argentina, and 18-year-old defensive stalwart, Ashley Philips joined Tottenham from Blackburn Rovers last summer. Spurs also have an already existing agreement in place for Croatia u17 International, Luka Vuskovic. The 16-year-old will officially move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he turns 18.

Tottenham are now set to add Muzambo to their ranks as they aim to gather the best young talents who will save the club millions in the future, and they must do at the earliest.
