Tottenham need to pay £26m to sign Radu Dragusin

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a new centre-back in the January transfer window, and they have earmarked Radu Dragin as a potential option, as per The Telegraph.

Ange Postecoglou has made it clear that he will look to sign a new defender in the January window, and the 21-year-old Genoa defender is emerging as a top target.

Dragusin helped the Italian club get promoted to Serie A last season, and his agent, Florin Manea, has recently confirmed that early discussions have taken place with Spurs over a potential move in January.

The Telegraph claims that Dragusin is expected to cost £26 million should he move in the January window. Spurs have other targets as well like Tosin Adarabioyo who is about to enter the final six months of his contract at Craven Cottage.

He would be a superb signing

Spurs felt the need to sign a new centre-back following the injury to Micky van de Ven who is expected to return after the New Year. Eric Dier has failed to make an impact, and he has been linked with a move away from the club in January.

In the absence of Van de Ven, Postecoglou has used Ben Davies, who is usually a left-back, to play in the middle during recent matches.

Dragusin would be a fantastic signing for the north London club. The 21-year-old was watched by Spurs scouts last week against former club Juventus, and it is highly regarded by the club.

The Romania defender came through the youth ranks at Juventus but he hardly played for the senior side. He spent loans at Sampdoria and Salernitana and impressed heavily last season on loan at Genoa. The move was later made permanent in the summer after Genoa moved to Serie A.

It will be interesting to see if Spurs come up with a concrete offer to sign Dragusin in January as the price quoted is well within their affordable range.
