Everton set for crunch Arnaut Danjuma transfer talks

Everton are set to hold crunch talks with winger Arnaut Danjuma who will seek to leave the club in the January window if the Toffees cannot assure him regular game time, according to a report from The Mirror

The 26-year-old joined the Merseyside club on loan from Villarreal last summer. He has failed to cement his place in the side, having managed just four games in the Premier League this season.

French outfit Lyon are heavily keen to secure his signature in January. However, Everton need to terminate the loan agreement for Danjuma to join any other club.

Journalist Ryan Taylor says that “sources have disclosed” that the Toffees still hold the power. However, if they fail to give him game time, he could look to force a move away from Goodison Park this month. He is set for crunch transfer talks to know about his future.

Put simply, if the Toffees really want to keep the player, they have to use him frequently, and not waste him on the bench.

Big decision

The Toffees are playing really well under Sean Dyche, but they have suffered three defeats in a row in the Premier League. Dyche could consider making some changes. He could bring Danjuma into the side to see if he can make a big impact.

He has preferred the likes of Dwight McNeal and Jack Harrison over Danjuma on flanks, but there could be an opportunity here. McNeil has picked up an ankle injury and he was recently stretchered off in the FA Cup draw against Crystal Palace.

While the injury doesn’t appear serious, McNeil could be out for a while. He can come into the side, as a result. At the moment, he is yet to agree a deal with Lyon, but he is keeping his options open. He will leave if the Toffees make it clear that he’s not in Dyche’s plans.
