Leeds United could be looking to add a new winger to their ranks in the January window, and they have earmarked Burnley winger Manuel Benson as a potential option.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Whites are showing keen interest in signing the 26-year-old winger, and they could face competition from Southampton.
The Whites are primarily looking to add new full-backs this month, but it appears now that Wilfried Gnonto could be on his way out of Elland Road in January with West Ham keen to land him.
The Italian striker is a highly talented young player but hasn’t been able to make a huge impact this season under Daniel Farke. If he leaves the club, Leeds are expected to move for Benson who has emerged as a “priority” target for them.
He says the case is open the move for the Burnley winger who is on £29k-per-week wages.
🚨 EXCL. 🟡🏴 And now… #LeedsUnited’s also pushing!
🇮🇹 #LUFC expecting a (likely) sale of Wilfried Gnonto to West Ham United before the end of the window pointed out the name of… Manuel Benson as a priority target as a replacement.

New addition
Benson was regular for the Clarets last season but he has struggled for regular games this term. He has managed only four appearances to his name this season.
The Whites are “pushing” for a move, but it is unclear whether it will be a loan deal or a direct transfer.
Gnonto has made only seven starts in the Championship this season, scoring one goal. He has been a big disappointment so far, and Leeds won’t mind selling him if they get a decent value.
Leeds are fourth in the Championship table at the moment, and Daniel Farke is aiming to take the club back to the Premier League after massive disappointment last term.
