Liverpool defender Owen Beck set for loan move to Dundee

Liverpool defender Owen Beck is all set to leave Anfield in the next few days.

According to Sky Sports journalist, Anthony Joseph, the young left-back will re-join Dundee for the second half of the season on loan.

The 21-year-old was recalled from his loan spell from Dundee earlier this month but with Andrew Robertson now fully fit and Kostas Tsimikas is set to return shortly, the Reds felt the need to send him on loan again.

He enjoyed a fruitful spell at the Scottish club in the first half of the season and Dundee were full of praise for the young defender and hailed him for his “outstanding” performances.

“Liverpool left-back Owen Beck is set to rejoin Dundee on loan until the end of the season. The 21-year-old was recalled by Liverpool from his initial loan at spell Dundee earlier this month, due to injuries to Andy Robertson and Konstantinos Tsimikas,” Joseph wrote on X.

New direction

Liverpool are expected to undergo a massive redevelopment project next summer with Jurgen Klopp leaving. The much-adored Liverpool boss has made it clear that he will leave the club at the end of the season.

His departure has come as a big shock to everyone. It makes sense for the Reds to not invest in any new players in January when the club is set to lurch in a fresh direction in the summer.

It is also not clear what the future lies ahead of key Liverpool players like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Van Dijk has openly made it clear that he will decide on his future after seeing where the club is heading in the summer.

Liverpool so have a strong squad and with key players returning from injuries, they should be able to fight till the end to win major trophies. The Reds are already in the final of the Carabao Cup, and are top of the Premier League at the moment.
