Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to miss the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham on Wednesday due to a knee injury, according to The Times journalist Paul Joyce.
The England international featured in the 2-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday, hitting the post and playing a key role to help the Reds secure a much-needed victory at Emirates Stadium.
Alexander-Arnold picked up the knock during the game and has been undergoing tests to ascertain its seriousness.
Liverpool are out of action after the game tomorrow until January 21, when Premier League action resumes against Bournemouth at Vitality Stadium.
It remains to be seen when the right-back, who has also been playing in midfield this term, will return to action, but another injury is the last thing the Reds want right now.
They are already without Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo due to the African Cup of Nations and Asian Cup, respectively.
Andrew Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas, Dominik Szoboszlai, Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic are also sidelined due to injuries, and manager Jurgen Klopp will hope Alexander-Arnold has not sustained a serious injury.
Conor Bradley is expected to be deployed at right-back against Fulham tomorrow after he impressed against Arsenal when he came on as a substitute.
The Northern Ireland international impressed and will be looking forward to more game time with the England international likely to miss more than a game.
TAA has played in 25 games across all competitions this season, with two goals and eight assists to his name, and being without him for a while is a huge blow given his versatility and quality.
Bradley will fancy his chances of impressing, and Klopp is expected to hand the 20-year-old, who emerged as Bolton Wanderers’ player of the year last term during a loan spell, the opportunity to prove himself in the absence of the 25-year-old.
