Manchester United could move for Brian Brobbey

Manchester United could be willing to do some late business in the January transfer window, and they want to sign a new striker to their ranks.

According to Sky Germany journalist, Florian Plettenberg, the Red Devils could move for Dutch striker Brian Brobbey this month.

Erik ten Hag wants to add depth in the forward region and he has the idea to sign him. United showed interest in signing the 21-year-old striker from Ajax last summer, and Plettenberg says that the “contract never broke off”.

The transfer could be possible only if Ten Hag stays as the coach. Ajax doesn’t want to sell him now, and they are under no pressure, as the striker has a contract until 2027.

He has managed 13 goals and 4 assists in 25 matches this season, and he is heavily on Ten Hag’s transfer plans along with Joshua Zirkzee.

Make an offer

United really need to add depth in their attacking areas. Anthony Martial has been training alone and doubts remain over his long-term future at the club.

Marcus Rashford, who was so inspirational last season, has suffered a dip in form and has come under strong criticism from fans and pundits alike.

Rasmus Hojlund has only impressed in flashes. He has scored five goals in the Champions League but has managed only two in 13 starts in the Premier League this season.

The 20-year-old has got bags of potential but the club need to be patient with him. In such a scenario, Ten Hag should look to bring in a new striker, and Brobbey could be a good addition to the side.
