Newcastle United are in the hunt to sign Nürnberg forward Can Uzun, according to a report from Fanatik.
The Magpies are looking to make a few signings towards the end of the January transfer window, and they are keen to sign Uzun. The likes of Brighton, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are also keen to sign the 18-year-old attacking midfielder.
The youngster was hailed by the Sky Germany journalist as an “incredible” talent, and he has been a key player for the club.
He has been in red-hot form at the moment, scoring eight goals in 12 starts in Bundesliga 2. He scored two goals recently against Hansa Rostock.
Nürnberg recently have received offers from the Magpies among others, where a fee of around £8.5m has been discussed.
He has a contract at the German club until 2027, but he is expected to move to another club at the end of the season.
Late activities
The Magpies are looking to bring in some new faces towards the end of the transfer window. According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Magpies are “closing on an agreement” with Manchester City to sign midfielder Alfie Harrison.
Uzun is a fantastic young talent, but as of now, we haven’t heard anything from the English press about it. But it appears that the Turkish press has the information that an offer has been placed for the young attacker.
Newcastle could be involved in a flurry of transfer activities towards the end of the month. Miguel Almiron has been linked with a move away from the club, and should he leave, the Magpies could look to bring in a new player as a replacement.
Similarly, Kieran Trippier has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich, but the Magpies have rejected three offers for the versatile full-back already.
