Tottenham Hotspur are set to recoup another player from Genoa as they set their sights on 22-year-old central midfielder, Morten Frendrup, according to transfer expert, Dean Jones.
Having already secured the €30m transfer of Radu Dragusin from Genoa, Tottenham are set to swoop on another player from the Italian club as they look to find midfield options.
While monitoring Dragusin’s progress over an already completed move, reports suggest that Frendrup’s performances for II Grifone also impressed Spurs scouts.
Along with Spurs, Jones adds that Premier League sides, Liverpool and Crystal Palace have also been keeping tabs on Frendrup, making it a three-way battle for the Denmark U21 International.
Frendrup has a contract at Stadio comunale Luigi Ferraris until June 2026 and is valued at £8.6m by Transfermarkt.

Tottenham have emerged as one of the most active English sides in the winter transfer window, swiftly conducting their transfer business. Ange Postecoglou emphasized the importance of early acquisitions to seamlessly integrate new players into the team’s style of play.
In line with this strategy, Spurs have secured the services of former Chelsea striker Timo Werner from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The deal comprises a six-month loan with a €17 million buy option.
Spurs have also officially confirmed the €30m transfer of Romania International, Radu Dragusin who was quickly acquired following a depleted defence due to injuries to Spurs side.
They are now looking to add Dragusin’s former teammate, Frendrup to their ranks as they are short of options in midfield.
Tottenham need midfield reinforcements, especially with key players like Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr heading to the Africa Cup of Nations and the potential departure of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who has been linked with a January exit as he has fallen the pecking order.
Frendrup is considered a potential long-term acquisition for Tottenham. Convincing Genoa to sell the 22-year-old this month might be a challenge, given their recent deal for Romanian defender Radu Dragusin. Frendrup could offer defensive cover and physicality to the Tottenham midfield, making him a valuable addition in the long term.
As Tottenham travel to Old Trafford on Sunday, Ange Postecoglou will hope his limited midfield options will add vigor against a Manchester United side desperate for victory.
