Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race to sign AS Roma attacking midfielder, Paulo Dybala, according to a report from Tuttojuve.
Despite grinding out four wins in their last five matches, Tottenham still lack that creative spark in midfield since James Maddison suffered an injury last November. Hence, Spurs are now looking at Roma’s attacking midfielder, Dybala who has already recorded six assists this season, to provide creativity in Ange Postecoglou’s midfield.
Tuttojuve also reports that Dybala’s future is hanging in the balance and Premier League sides including, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle United are all vying for the Argentine’s signature. Spanish Laliga side, Atletico Madrid are also reported to be interested in the Argentina international.
Dybala’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico is set to expire in June 2025, and as per Spanish reports, the 30-year-old has a reduced release clause of £11.2m.

Paulo Dybala is regarded as one of the most creative midfielders in Europe having excelled in Italy for years, particularly during his time at Juventus. He achieved significant success, winning the Serie A title five times and reaching the UEFA Champions League final once. He also continued his silverware spree after signing for Roma where he won the maiden UEFA Conference League and reached the Europa League final but lost out to Sevilla.
Both Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in Dybala, with United seeing him as a potential key addition to their attack. However, Tutto reports that Chelsea’s head coach, Mauricio Pochettino, personally desires Dybala at Stamford Bridge, and the Blues were linked with him in the summer of 2023 as well. The competition between these top clubs for Dybala’s services highlights his standing as a coveted talent in the football world.
Dybala’s versatility and creativity will make him a core in Ange Postecoglou’s side as he will take off creative burden from Son Heung-Min, and Dejan Kulusevski who are better off as finishers and goalscorers. Roberto Carlos hailed him as a “world-class” player.
Although Spurs are currently prioritizing a move for a defender, it remains to be seen how swiftly The Lilywhites will act in getting Dybala who is also of interest to other European Clubs.
