West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Manchester City’s midfielder, Kalvin Philips on loan until the end of the season, as per TeamTalk.
The 28-year-old has been out of favour at the Etihad Stadium with Pep Guardiola even apologizing for his lack of game time in a previous press conference.
The England International has only featured in 379 minutes of Premier League football since he arrived from Leeds United.
Several clubs including Crystal Palace and Newcastle United were closely monitoring the situation of Phillips with an eye on a potential move in the current transfer window.
Initially considering Newcastle as his preferred destination, the Magpies dropped out due to unwillingness to meet the requested loan fee. Negotiations between Phillips’ agents, CAA Stellar Holding and City ensued to lower the price, allowing West Ham to emerge as the leading candidate for his acquisition.
