West Ham are one of the clubs keeping a close eye on Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall, according to a report from The Athletic.
The Hammers could be looking to sign a new defender in the January window with Thilo Keherer all set for exit in the January window on loan.
Kehrer is close to joining AS Monaco on loan for the rest of the season. Monaco have an option to sign him permanently next summer.
Thus, David Moyes could be looking to add a new defender and Worrall has emerged as an option. The 26-year-old is likely to leave the club in January after he had a disagreement with Steve Cooper.
While he was welcomed back into the fold by Nuno Espirito Santo, it will be interesting to see what Forest do if any club come up with an offer.
Leicester City are also in the mix to sign the Forest defender.
Should West Ham move for Worrall?
Worrall progressed through the youth ranks at Forest and has made 220 appearances for the club. He was an integral part of the side that helped the club move to the Premier League and also played a big part in keeping them in the league last season.
He has a contract at City Ground until 2026 and the Hammers may need to pay a handsome fee to lure him away. He pockets around £15k-per-week wages, and West Ham can tempt him with a better pay package.
Worrall is a physically strong defender and should do well under Moyes. He loves to tackle and can play accurate long balls.
West Ham, however, are unlikely to sell Nayef Aguerd in the January window. Clubs in Saudi Arabia are keen to sign him in January but the Hammers are not keen to sell him.
Said Benrahma is attracting interest from French club Lyon and could be sold in January.
