West Ham are looking to sign a new centre-back in the January transfer window and they are interested in Wolves defender Max Kilman, according to Alex Crook of talkSPORT.
The Hammers earmarked him as one of their potential targets when they received a mammoth £105m fee for Declan Rice. They are now looking to reignite their interest in Kilman.
Wolves rejected a £30m bid for Kilman during the summer from Italian giants Napoli. Since then, he has signed a new five-year deal in August. Wolves are under no pressure to sell their 26-year-old captain.
Crook says that Moyes is a long-term admirer of Kilman but Wolves are not looking to sell him in January. Having said that, Wolves are under financial restrictions, and things could change if the Hammers can come up with a tempting offer.
Kilman has played 109 league games for Wolves since joining the club and he is a big player for them.
Difficult
This could be an interesting transfer window for West Ham. Moyes needs to ship out some of his fringe players to free up the space and wages to bring in new faces.
According to a report from Sky Sports, French club AS Monaco are in advanced talks to sign Thilo Kehrer, while Nayef Aguerd is attracting interest from Saudi clubs.
In case, both players leave, Moyes could tempt Wolves into selling their prized asset with a big-money offer, although it is still guaranteed whether they would part ways with him in the middle of the season.
The Hammers have done exceedingly well both in the Premier League and the Europa League, and Moyes will be pleased with his side’s effort. If he can bring a few quality players in January, they will get even better.
Kilman has made 20 starts for Wolves this season and has scored one goal in the Premier League.
