Celtic dropped points in the Scottish Premiership as they managed a 1-1 draw against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.
The Bhoys came from behind to earn a point with the equalizer coming from January signing Nicolas Kuhn. Celtic were wasteful throughout the game, and they couldn’t take their chances against a managerless Aberdeen side.
In the second half, Celtic could have conceded one more goal, but thanks to Joe Hart, they were still alive in the contest.
Graeme Shinnie is put through by Leighton Clarkson and he should have buried that. He had the goal at his mercy but Hart pulled off a great save and kept the scoreline intact.
Chris Sutton was heavily impressed with that effort. He reacted on Sky Sports: “What a big save from Hart! He made himself big! It’s been an amazing second half from Aberdeen. Where was this in the first half?”
The Dons took the lead early in the second half through Bojan Miovski who scored a stunning goal.
Disappointing
It was a great advert for Scottish football, especially in the second half. However, Celtic and Brendan Rodgers will be really disappointed that they couldn’t earn all three points.
Rangers are closing them down and we have a great title race on our hands. Towards the end of the game, new signing Idah came close to scoring but he got his header all wrong.
Luis Palma also came close to scoring for the Hoops but he couldn’t score. His goal was ruled offside after VAR intervention and then clipped the crossbar with a back-post strike.
The introduction of two January signings made a big impact. Matt O’Riley also struck the outside of the post, but they just couldn’t find the winning goal.
Sutton hinted that Celtic may have to pay a big price for not signing a left-back in the January window.
