Liverpool came from behind to secure a 4-1 victory over Luton Town yesterday, with Luis Diaz grabbing the fourth goal as the Reds ran riot at Anfield in the second-half.
The Colombian international has now bagged ten goals across all competitions this term, weighing in with three assists, and he is the fifth Liverpool player to reach double figures for goals this season.
Diaz was a constant thorn in the flesh of the Luton defence last night despite only scoring once, and Northern Ireland international right-back Conor Bradley has revealed that he hates playing against him in training.
“He’s my worst nightmare in training, I hate coming up against him!” the 20-year-old told Liverpoolfc.com.
“He can go left, he can go right. He’s playing brilliantly at the moment, and long may it continue.
“It’s the worst thing for a full-back when someone can go down the line or come inside, it’s a nightmare. The fact he can go on his left foot or his right is brilliant for us, and he causes teams all sorts of trouble.”
Bradley is a solid defender and the youngster has been brilliant since making his debut for the season last November, and while he has been one of the best youngsters in the Premier League this term, his revelation concerning Diaz speaks volumes.
The Liverpool full-back has faced the likes of Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez several times in training, but he clearly has not had a hard time against them like he has encountered anytime he plays against the Colombian.
The Reds have had some injury worries recently, but having Diaz available has been relieving for manager Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool return to action next on Sunday when they take on Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup at Wembley, and the former Porto star will be looking forward to the game.
They went without a trophy last year and will be desperate to pick up one of four possible pieces of silverware at the expense of the Blues.
Diaz will be causing Chelsea all sorts of problems at the back on Sunday, and Liverpool will fancy their chances of winning the 2023-24 Carabao Cup with such a player on song.
