Craig Dawson: Arsenal target Pedro Neto could leave next summer

Arteta wants a more hostile atmosphere from Arsenal fans at the Emirates

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Wolves attacker Pedro Neto who impressed once again this weekend in the Premier League.

The 23-year-old Wolves attacking midfielder provided an assist on Saturday (17 February) as Wolves managed to pick up a 2-1 win against Tottenham away from home.

Craig Dawson, speaking on Soccer Saturday for Sky Sports, has suggested that he would be surprised if Neto doesn’t move to a big club in the summer.

“I’m sorry to the Wolves fans, but if he is there next season, I’ll be very surprised. He is that. I think he’ll go into a bigger club. He runs the full pace. Unbelievable,” said Dawson.

Should Arsenal look to sign him?

Irrespective of where Arsenal finish this season, Mikel Arteta should be looking to add more depth in the attacking areas next season. Ideally, the Gunners need a top-quality striker, but they can also sign a quality attacking midfielder who is capable of scoring goals as well.

Neto has been outstanding for Wolves this season. He has managed two goals and nine assists in the Premier League this season. Known for his pace, dribbling skill and ability to find key passes, he would be a terrific signing for the Gunners.

According to a recent report, Wolves could demand a fee of over £60million for the Portuguese who has delivered three brilliant performances back to back. He was outstanding against both Chelsea and Manchester United and proved his class against Spurs as well.

Mikel Arteta is a long-term admirer of Neto, and it makes sense for them to make a move for him in the summer transfer window, although Wolves are under no pressure to sell him.
