Crystal Palace are expected to go through a major rebuild in the summer transfer window.
Oliver Glasner has given the squad a huge lift after the Eagles picked up a win in his first game in charge. They defeated ten-man Burnley 3-0 last week at Selhurst Park and it takes them to 13th in the Premier League table.
The Eagles should back their manager in the transfer market to bring players of his choice, but they may have to sell some of their top players as well.
Marc Guehi, who is frequently linked with top Premier League clubs, is a bankable asset while Eberechi Eze is also being targeted by Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old joined Selhurst Park in the summer of 2020 and has made 110 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals.
According to a report from The Independent, Eze is one of the main targets for Tottenham but he is “ready for a step-up” to Pep Guardiola’s side.
Miguel Delaney writes: “It is expected that any deal would be staggered, with considerable portions made up of appearance clauses.”
Eberechi Eze could leave Crystal Palace
After the departure of Wilfried Zaha, Palace have found their new hero in Eze. He has struggled with injuries this season but has still managed five goals in 13 starts in the Premier League.
Capable of playing in all three positions upfront, he would be a handy signing for any top club. Known for his dribbling and set-piece-taking abilities, he could be the player who can help Tottenham to reach great heights.
At the same time, he has a contract at Selhurst Park until 2027, which means Palace are likely to demand a high transfer fee for him.
Glasner probably will try to convince him to stay and be a major part of his project, but it would be really hard for the player to reject an offer if Manchester City come calling. City have been trailing Eze for a long time, and it appears that the player himself wants to move to Etihad Stadium as well.
