David Raya shows heartwarming gesture after Arsenal win v Newcastle

Arsenal keep the pressure on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top after they picked up their sixth win in a row in the Premier League.

The Gunners responded strongly after their midweek defeat against Porto in the Champions League with a 4-1 win over Newcastle in the Premier League at the Emirates.

After the match, Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was seen walking towards a young fan and gave her his pair of gloves. The young girl was nearly in tears as she got a great surprise from the 28-year-old goalkeeper who has been superb this season.

An own goal from Sven Botman gave Arsenal an early lead and from there on they kept on shifting gears. Kai Havertz has now scored back-to-back goals in the Premier League while Bukayo Saka has now managed to score in five consecutive Premier League games, a feat only achieved by the legendary Ian Rush for the Gunners.

Arsenal serious contender for the Premier League title

Mikel Arteta has proved that he is someone who will stick to his decisions. Last season, Aaron Ramsdale was the first-choice goalkeeper for the Gunners, but Arteta felt that he still needed another top-quality goalkeeper in his ranks.

He signed the Spanish goalkeeper from Brentford on loan in the summer, and Raya proved to be a terrific signing for the club. According to Sofascore, Raya has made 85 saves for Arsenal in all competitions this season.

The Gunners were not ready for a title challenge last season but this time they are looking like a real deal. They will learn from the experience and are expected to fight toe-to-toe with Liverpool and Manchester City till the very end.

They have been scoring goals for fun in recent games and have been equally solid at the back.
