Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka scored twice on Saturday (17 February) as the Gunners earned a 5-0 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor.
The Gunners are firmly back in the Premier League title race and they have now picked up five wins in a row in all competitions.
With that victory, Arsenal are now two points behind Liverpool, and they will feel confident about staying in the race till the very end, as we approach the business end of the season.
The best thing about the Gunners is that they are not only scoring goals for fun but are also managing clean sheets as well. They have looked solid at the back, and amid talks of needing a proper striker, they are doing more than ‘just fine’.
Saka has been in terrific form this season, once again, for Arsenal. He has scored 12 goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League already, but his recent form has been simply outstanding. He has managed seven goals in his last seven games, and Gary Lineker feels the Arsenal forward has got “back to his best”.
Lineker was speaking on “The Rest is Football” podcast along with Michach Richards and Alan Shearer where he spoke of the individual brilliance of some of Arsenal players including Saka.
“Saka, back to his best although I don’t think he has ever been poor. Let’s make that absolutely clear,” said Lineker.
Arsenal forwards are joy to watch
Saka has been absolutely fantastic in recent games, as he has been almost throughout the campaign.
There have been a lot of talks about the Gunners needing a striker, and they were heavily linked with a move for Brentford Ivan Toney in the January window.
Mikel Arteta has the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah as two options, but he has other forward players who can do the job for him as well.
Micah Richards in the discussion pointed out the role of Leandro Trossard who scored against Burnley. Likewise, Kai Havertz is getting better with every game, while Martin Odegaard has looked like a class act in recent games.
It could become difficult for Jesus to get into the starting line-up straight away after he returns from injury.
