Tottenham will look to bounce back to winning ways when they face Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday (10 February).
Spurs drew 2-2 in the previous Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park.
Ahead of the match, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso has returned to training. In fact, the 27-year-old has trained the entire week, but the club will make the final call on whether he will be fit to play for this game.
Son Hueng-Min and Yves Bissouma have also trained with the team.
“Lo Celso trained this week. Gio trained all week but he’s obviously missed a fair bit of football so we’ll have to see how he is and whether we give him another week or not,” said Postecoglou as quoted by Football London.
Exit-linked?
While the transfer window in England has closed, it is still active in Turkey. In recent weeks, there have been speculations that Lo Celso will complete a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The Argentine midfielder, who is on £70k-per-week deal at the north London club, has become an important player under Postecoglou, but the Turkish press otherwise.
The midfielder has managed four starts and a further six appearances have come from the bench. He has scored two goals and provided two assists so far.
Postecoglou has done a great job in clearing out unwanted players from the club. The likes of Hugo Lloris, Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon, Tanguy Ndombele and Japhet Tanganga are some of the players shipped out by the manager.
It was thought that Lo Celso would fall under this category. However, he has gone from a forgotten midfielder to a key player under the former Celtic boss.
With Spurs chasing for a place in the top four, chances are high that Lo Celso won’t be sold even if Gala come up with a good offer.
