Liverpool ready to send a bid to Bayer Leverkusen to appoint Xabi Alonso

Bayern to rival Liverpool for Xabi Alonso next summer, with Tuchel’s job hanging by a thread

Liverpool are keen to appoint their former player Xabi Alonso as their next manager but they are likely to face big competition from Bayern Munich

The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has made it clear already that he will leave the club at the end of the season. Alonso, who is doing a wonderful job at Bayer Leverkusen, is being targeted by both Bayern and Liverpool.

Bayern Munich has made his appointment a top priority after news broke out today that they will part ways with Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season.

According to Foot Mercato journalist, Santi Aouna, Liverpool are “ready to send a bid” to Leverkusen in the next few weeks to secure a deal for Alonso who is keen on a move to England.

Xabi Alonso will be a good appointment for Liverpool

Klopp has done a remarkable job at Liverpool and it won’t be easy to replace him. It will be an emotional moment for everyone when he leaves, but it is also essential for the Reds to look forward and continue the legacy.

Liverpool fans will be excited to have Alonso back at the club. The 42-year-old was a hero at Anfield during his playing days, and as a manager, he is doing a fabulous job with Bayer Leverkusen.

Apart from appointing someone who has strong tactical acumen, Liverpool would need someone who knows the club inside out. Alonso could also be tempted to take charge of a stable club whose current manager would be leaving a fantastic squad for him.

Moreover, Klopp has shared his admiration for Alonso as he thinks the Spaniard would be perfect for the club.

Having said that, Alonso also spent time with Bayern and he knows German football very well. He could also be tempted to join the best club in Germany and win regular trophies.
