Liverpool ready to try their luck for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe

Liverpool are willing to try their luck for Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe this summer and have already sent an offer to him, according to French outlet Le10Sport.

The 25-year-old is set to leave the Ligue 1 club at the end of the season as a free agent, and while Real Madrid are favourites to secure his services, the Reds are ready to battle them.

Liverpool have had Mbappe on their radar for a while, and outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp has an excellent relationship with the Frenchman.

The two have already spoken over the telephone and they really like each other, and while the imminent departure of their German boss will weaken their chances of landing the PSG star, they remain keen on getting their man.

With Mohamed Salah also likely to follow Klopp out of Liverpool, the Anfield club need a replacement, and Mbappe fits the bill.

The France international is arguably the best player in Europe right now, with 185 Ligue 1 goals to his name since turning professional in 2016, and such a player will definitely take the Liverpool attack to the next level.

Manchester United are also interested in bringing Mbappe to the Premier League this summer, but the Merseysiders could boost their chances by winning the title this season.

The Frenchman would be keen to join such a club, but whether they can meet his demands remains to be seen.

Mbappe currently earns a reported £22million-a-year but could see that drop by as much as £10m to play for Madrid, with the La Liga giants offering him between £12m and £17m plus bonuses.

However, a massive £85m signing-on fee will be included in the deal for him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu club, and Liverpool cannot afford such wages and fees to land him.

They need to appoint a new sporting director and manager first before making their final decisions on summer transfers, and they need to get the first two decisions right as it will determine the quality of players they end up recruiting going forward.
