Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka scored two goals against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday (17 February) and Mikel Arteta praised him heavily in the post-match press conference.
Following their 6-0 win against West Ham, the Gunners displayed their ruthless side as they demolished the Clarets 5-0 away from home. Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, and Kai Hvaertz also found the net for the visitors.
Saka has been excellent for the north London club once again this season. The 22-year-old has managed 12 goals and seven assists in the Premier League already.
The England winger scored the first goal from the penalty spot. His second goal came after the break when he scored with his right foot from close range, although the goalkeeper probably could have done better.
Arteta said after the game that Saka trains hard in training every single day and he works on many different situations when he is in and around the box. As a result of which, there is an element of unpredictability in his game.
“He has got this ability and he trains a lot on many different situations when he is in and around the box. Today he had two brilliant finishes again,” said Arteta.
“Yes, we don’t really see it [in football]. Especially forward players and wingers with that level of consistency and numbers. At his age it is something really strange [his maturity] to find but it is not a coincidence when you look at him every single day. The way he trains, the way he applies himself, the qualities that he has. And he can do more.”
Arsenal firmly in title race
The victory against Liverpool have given them the impetus to fight back into the title race, and it seems, they are riding high on momentum.
There are suggestions that the Gunners need to sign a top-quality striker, but at the moment, they are doing just fine.
Manchester City dropped points against Chelsea on Saturday, but we all know what Pep Guardiola’s side are capable of. Liverpool are still leading the table, but one could feel there could be more twists and turns in the league.
