Patrick Roberts sends brilliant message to Celtic January signing Adam Idah

Celtic completed the signing of Norwich City striker Adam Idah on loan for the rest of the season on the transfer deadline day.

The Bhoys were looking to add new faces in January, but Brendan Rodgers has been left frustrated with a lack of transfer activities. Nevertheless, the Hoops did manage to sign a new attacker, albeit on loan.

Idah has made 34 appearances for the Championship club this season, scoring seven goals. However, he only started in 14 of those. The Canaries felt that a loan move would be perfect for him.

The 22-year-old took to Instagram to share his reaction after the move was completed. He is delighted to have joined Celtic Park, and received loads of message from players and fans.

“Buzzing to have joined Celtic FC on loan for the rest of the season. Can’t wait to get started & experience Celtic Park! See you all soon,” Idah wrote on Instagram.

Former Celtic player and fan favourite, Patrick Roberts, sent him a brilliant message. Roberts enjoyed a successful spell under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic when he joined from Manchester City on loan. He was a part of the side that won back to back domestic trebles under Rodgers.

“Congrats brother! You’ll love it up there,” wrote Roberts.

Rodgers felt that Celtic could have been brave in the transfer market, as he probably would have expected more arrivals.

Celtic did well to keep players like Cameron Carter-Vickers and Matt O’Riley with them, but the lack of activity before the deadline on Thursday night has clearly frustrated the Hoops boss.

David Turnbull joined Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee. The 24-year-old left the club permanently and signed a contract that runs until 2027.

Mikey Johnston also left Parkhead to join West Bromwich Albion on loan. The 24-year-old has failed to impress Rodgers whenever he was given an opportunity and he must grab this opportunity with both hands to make the best use of this loan move.
