Liverpool will look to maintain their lead at the top when they face Brentford away from Anfield on Saturday lunchtime.
Jurgen Klopp has never been a fan of the early kick-off, but he will have to make sure that the Reds get the job done, with Manchester City and Arsenal breathing down their neck.
The Reds are heading into this game on the back of a 3-1 win against Burnley, but it was hardly a convincing performance from them.
Klopp will be buoyed by the return of Mohamed Salah but at the same time, he will be without Trent Alexander-Arnold for this game, as the England right-back following the recurrence of his knee injury.
The Reds boss can use Joe Gomez but he is likely to draft youngster Conor Bradley into the side. The 20-year-old returned to the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday after he was given compassionate leave following the tragic death of his father.
Paul Merson has hailed the youngster as an “outstanding” talent, saying he is “excited” to see him in action. The Sky Sports pundit also predicts a 2-0 win for the Reds.
Terrific talent
“Trent Alexander-Arnold is injured and I’m excited to see what Conor Bradley can do in his absence. His dad’s untimely demise was the reason he was out of the team, so Klopp will put him straight back into the XI. He’s an absolutely outstanding talent and should hopefully pick up from where he left off,” said Merson to Sportskeeda.
Bradley enjoyed his best game for the Reds in the 4-1 win against Chelsea where he scored the second goal. He started five games in a row in January, and the club didn’t feel the absence of Alexander-Arnold which shows what a fantastic talent he is.
With Salah back into the side, Liverpool once again boast a terrific attacking unit. Brentford have picked up only two wins from their last nine Premier League games, and are heading into this fixture on the back of a 2-0 win over Wolves.
