Leeds United will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Daniel Farke will no doubt look to pick his best team for this game, but he may have to rotate his squad, with games coming thick and fast in the Championship.
Chris Sutton feels that Farke may look to prioritise the league over this tie, and he can’t be blamed if he thinks that way.
Southampton and Ipswich Town are breathing down their neck, while Leeds could feel they have a genuine chance here of further closing the gap at the top with Leicester City who dropped six points in their last two games.
Also, Farke said in his pre-match press conference that Crynsencio Summerville has missed several training sessions in recent weeks, while in-form attacker Georginio Rutter is struggling with hip problems.
Patrick Bamford could also miss out, and Dan James could be rested as well.
How Leeds could line up v Chelsea
Farke has admitted that he will give chances to players who are not getting regular games. Connor Roberts, who joined in the January transfer window on loan from Burnley, is likely to start against the Blues.
The 28-year-old right-back made a big impact in the previous game against Leicester City when he scored from the bench to spark a dramatic revival.
Glenn Kamara has been rested by Farke in recent cup games, and he is likely to sit out for this game as well. Archie Gray, who has played in so many different positions this season, could play in central midfield.
With Summerville unlikely to be risked after he picked up a knock against the Foxes, the door could be open for Jaidon Anthony on the left wing.
Farke has made it clear that he will not take any risk with players who are not fully fit, which means Bamford and Rutter won’t be traveling with the squad. In that case, Mateo Joseph is likely to come into the side.
Thus, Farke is likely to make three changes from the side that won against Leicester — Roberts, Anthony, and Joseph are likely to start in place of Kamara, Summerville, and Rutter.
Predicted Leeds starting line-up: Meslier, Roberts, Rodon, Ampadu, Firpo, Gruev, Gray, Anthony, Gnonto, Piroe, Joseph.
