Raheem Sterling sends message to Celtic hero Joe Hart

Celtic goalkeeper has confirmed today that he will retire from professional football at the end of the season.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper, who has been outstanding for Celtic this season, has decided that the time is right for him to bring the curtain down on his career at Celtic Park.

Celtic will be looking to sign a new goalkeeper next summer, and Hart, who probably could have continued for one or two more seasons, has probably made the job easy for them in this department.

Hart took to Instagram to confirm the news, and several players have paid their respects. Chelsea winger, Raheem Sterling was one of them who sent a brilliant message to Hart. Both played together at Manchester City.

Sterling wrote on Instagram: “Top class”.

Joe Hart can end Celtic career on a high

The former England goalkeeper joined the Bhoys in 2021-22 from Tottenham Hotspur. He has been a key player for them since making over 135 appearances, and winning five major silverware.

He has enjoyed a glittering career. He made 348 appearances for Manchester City and was a part of the side that won the Premier League title under Roberto Mancini. He has also played 75 times for his country.

Brendan Rodgers has praised him heavily for his contribution, both on and off the pitch.

Having decided on his career, Hart can enjoy his football for the rest of the season. He can still win two domestic titles for Celtic.

The Hoops are under pressure at the moment. They not only squandered their eight-point lead over Rangers but also trail by two points at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.

With two Old Firm games still to play, Celtic can still salvage their season but it will require a massive effort from other players as well. Hart has maintained an enviable consistency in recent games, but overall Celtic have been very poor.
