Said Benrahma looks to seal West Ham exit

West Ham attacking midfielder Said Benrahma has travelled to France to complete his move to Lyon on the deadline day.

Lyon have reached an agreement with West Ham United to sign Benrahma on loan and a buy option worth £17m accumulatively, as per David Ornstein.

West Ham are having an impressive season, a much better season by their standards. They currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League, a contrast to their League position at this time last season, highlighting the significant improvement David Moyes has carried out.

Along with an impressive League standing, The Hammers have also qualified for the round of 16 in the Europa League as they eye two consecutive European titles having clinched the Conference League last season.

While the East London side are working on reinforcing their squad, they are also working on outgoings with Benrahma set to depart the London Stadium.

Ornstein reports that Benrahma has travelled to France after Lyon and West Ham reached an agreement for a loan move with the French side holding a buy option valued at £17m in total.

However, there are still a few skirmishes to brush out between the Algeria International and West Ham, but Lyon remain optimistic a move could be sealed on deadline day.

In the heat of this, Footmercato’s reporter, Santi Aouna exclusively reports that West Ham’s London rivals, Fulham are looking to hijack Lyon’s move for Benrahma.

The report further adds that Lyon have booked a medical for the 28-year-old having sent in a private jet but The Cottagers are now looking to hijack the deal.

Benrahma signed for West Ham in 2021 from Brentford but has failed to cement a place in the starting lineup. He has made 110 appearances, scoring 15 goals while providing 16 assists.
